Why still get a LTC after September 1, 2021 when Texas goes Constitutional carry?
*A Texas LTC is good in 38 States. When you constitutionally carry you are only able to do so in 18 states.
*In the training I discuss traveling with a firearm and things to consider so as not to have issues with law enforcement in other states.
*Teachers k-12 who wish to carry a concealed handgun are still required to have an LTC and also take additional 16 hours of training, which we teach also.
*Anyone wanting to conceal carry on a college campus in Texas will still need a LTC.
*Persons under 21 will be able to obtain a LTC if they have court-order of protection and will be able to obtain an expedited LTC through at risk status.
*Active Duty Military person between 18 to 20 stationed in Texas desiring to carry will need a LTC.
*An LTC lessens the stress during a law enforcement interaction. Texas LTC holders are under constant background check.
*Texas LTC speed up gun purchases when you buy from a Texas FFl.
* There will be a new sign under code 30.05 which will allow business to deny entry to person who are carrying a firearm if they do not have and LTC. You will see many businesses doing this. Also, employers doing this as well.
*The course goes into detail about when and where you can carry a firearm in the state of Texas.
*If you have a LTC and you go into an area that is prohibited and you are asked to leave and you do so immediately, there is a defense against prosecution. If you are constitutionally carrying you will not have that defense against prosecution.
*The course has a section on firearms safety and effective storage practices.
*Participants will get to test on their shooting proficiency and can get additional training if needed.
And there are many more benefits.
